Description
Practical Ideas That Really Work for Students with Reading Disabilities: Improving Vocabulary, Comprehension, and Metacognition – Second Edition is for educators who work with students with mild to moderate reading disabilities.
Like the other titles in this series, this easy-to-use resource consists of two main components: a Practical Ideas Manual and an Evaluation Form.
The Manual has 37 practical intervention ideas, reproducible worksheets, examples, illustrations, and tips designed for easy implementation. Teachers can incorporate these creative and fun materials into their general education curriculum.
The Evaluation Form consists of a Rating Scale, ideas Matrix, and Intervention Plan. The Rating Scale is a criterion-referenced measure for evaluating reading behaviours that impact student learning.
The ideas Matrix provides a systematic way of linking results of the Rating Scale to interventions. The Intervention Plan is a record-keeping tool used to document (1) the targeted-skills, (2) the interventions tried, and (3) the evaulation.
A CD is also included so that all the reproducible items can be easily printed.
